Odessa National University Model United Nation 2009
You are welcome to participate in international student conference Odessa National University Model United Nations 2009 (ONUMUN) on December 11-13, 2009
The conference will take place on the Black Sea coast, at Odessacity, Ukraine. This year we organize our conference in eighth time.
ONUMUN gives a unique and interactive opportunity for university students from all over the world to become familiar with international issues and to enhance students’ understanding of the institutional and political in-workings of the UN organization. At this role-playing game participants assume roles of diplomats representing various member-states of the UN and simulate the debate happening in several bodies of the UN and one regional organization, following the corresponding rules of procedure.
We have a great traditional support from the General Consulates accredited in Odessa and Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Odessa.
During the conference, the work will be in the following committees:
- Security Council- Situation in Somali;
- Human Rights Council- Secure the rights of children during the conflicts
- 1st Committee of General Assembly- Disarmament - 1. Combat and eradicate the illicit trade in SALWs 2. Establishment of a Nuclear – free Zone in the Middle East region
- International Court of Justice- Criminal Proceedings in France (Republic of the Congo v. France)
- Economic and Social Council- Globalization and Security of National Markets during Crisis
The deadlinefor application is – 19th of November 2009.

Participation fee:
Citizens of Ukraine – 100 hrivnas
Citizens of the CIS states – 20 euro
Citizens of other states – 30 euro
You will have free breakfasts, lunches and dinners within 3 days of the conference.
We don’t have travel grants.
Please, take into account that you should pay for your accommodation, but our team do our best to arrange the cheap hostel for all participants.
