"Basic Income Guarantee: History, present and future"
International Symposium "Basic Income Guarantee: History, present and future" (Kyiv, 16 September 2009)
What was it that I was so interested in as a youth, before I was told I had to earn a living? Robert Anton Wilson (1932-2007)
Let’s provide new jobs and all are satisfied – nearly in that way we fight against poverty. But, maybe unemployment is not an illness? And maybe we should not look for a cure for it?
What is a Basic Income Guarantee? How did the idea of a Basic Income Guarantee develop historically, which attempts to implement it have been made and how is the discussion in the world? Which pro's and con's have the introduction of such a system? Which influences on the labour market may the idea have and on the motivation of people to work? Which global changes a Basic Income Guarantee may have? Is it possible to unite the ideas of communism and capitalism in one system?
These and many other questions will be discussed at the first in Ukraine Symposium “Basic Income Guarantee: History, Present and Future” on 16. September 2009 in Kyiv.
Venue place: hotel “Ukraine”, Instytutska Street 4, Kyiv Time: 18:00, registration of participants starts at 17:30 Working languages: Ukrainian, Russian
