The M100 Sanssouci Colloquium, one of the largest gatherings of international journalists in Europe, invites young journalists from all over Europe to Potsdam to the M100 Youth Media Workshop taking place from 3rd to 7th September 2009.

Under the heading “Migration and the Media. How do European media report on migration and immigrants? How do immigrants influence the media?“ 25 young media professionals have the opportunity to discuss the situation of immigration and integration in different European countries; the differences in education, socialisation and integration. Do people with a migration background have a different view to and different experiences of this subject than local populations? How do the media (mainstream media/media for immigrants) report about similar topics/problems? How can media reach natives and immigrants, how can media contribute to more integration and better understanding? What are the main problems of this issue in Europe? During this hands-on workshop the participants will produce videos, radio reports and a blog, published on www.orangelog.eu.
