Danube Summer University Launched in Kiev
For the first time Ukrainian students joined educational program.
Ukraine joined Danube Summer University which has been conducted every year since 2001. Danube Summer University is a partner project of Erste Bank Group and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. This year the program, with the participation of finance and human resource management students, was launched in Kyiv.
On June 29, 2008 Danube Summer University started in Kiev. The program has been conducted for 8 years in the countries of Erste Bank Group operations. This year for the first time 7 Ukrainian students joined participants from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia. Student participating in Danube Summer University 2008 will take one month educational tour across Central and Eastern Europe.
The program starts at the Vadym Hetman Kiev National Economic University that has joint this year partner-universities. Students attended the lectures of Rupert Dollinger, HR Director Ertse Bank Group, Roman Bondar Head of Treasury, Erste Bank Ukraine and Roman Oliynyk, Erste Bank Ukraine Ana-lyst. During the next 4 weeks participants of the Danube Summer University 2008 will visit economic universities in Bucharest, Bratislava, Prague and Vienna. In each city they will attend chosen courses and also learn culture and traditions of CEE countries. The program will culminate on 29 July with a closing ceremony in Vienna.
Danube Summer University is a unique program combining academic studies, practical workshops and cultural activities. The first-rate students of economic specialties from the 8 counties are able not only attend courses of leading CEE universities, but also to get new skills and extend their knowledge at practical workshops with Erste Bank Group experts. Participants will visit the local offices of the Erste Bank Group subsidiaries and specialist will share their experience in CEE banking sector.
